What is Zupa!?

Zupa! is a fantastic new way to buy & sell all your awesome things with a simple, friendly, and delightfully streamlined user experience that allows for your items to be listed, bought, & sold with a few quick taps. Shipping is calculated automatically & labels sent to you in an instant.

Why do you need my date of birth and 4 digits of my Social Security number?

To prevent fraudulent activity, Zupa! uses Stripe to process our payments, You can read about why Stripe requires this info:

Part of our responsibilities to our financial partners involves verifying your identity and confirming the legitimacy of your business. Collecting this information enables us to automate parts of this process so that you can start running charges immediately.

How much is your app?

Where does the name come from?

The name is a play off the word "Super!" Zupa! is also so fun to say, we bet you can't say it just once, "Zupa!" See. In some languages Zupa means soup. Well, we do love soup so that's a win-win.

How did the idea come about?

Over the years we have all managed to accumulate lots of things, some of those things other people definitely want to buy. We've always thought it would be nice to have a simple way to clear all the clutter out of our homes without having to setup a public meeting with a complete stranger or engage in a bidding war over the sale of an item we really wanted. As smart phones became widely adopted, we decided to create the mobile only marketplace we have always wanted. We created Zupa! to solve three simple problems:

- Listing items for sale on multiple platforms is a pain - we help you take a picture once, then share it (instantly for sale) on multiple services.

- Most buying/selling experiences are clumsy and take forever - we've optimized the experience to be fast and efficient.

- Selling and shipping items is a hassle - We supply you with a platform to easily & instantly sell items from the comfort of your own home.


What other services are you compatible with?

Currently, you can share your photos on a photo-by-photo basis on Pinterest, Facebook, and Twitter. Additionally, if you specify a location with your photo, you can opt to have us check you in on Foursquare. Going forward, we plan on supporting additional services but have nothing else to announce at this time.

Are you hiring?

Is there an API or developer program?

None publicly available yet.

How does privacy work?

We have adopted a follower model that means if you're "public" on Zupa!, anyone can subscribe to follow your photos.

Who can see my photos?

All photos are public by default which means they are visible to anyone using Zupa!

When are you going to make the app for Blackberry, Windows Phone 7, iPad, etc?

We are currently working on making the iPhone experience as solid as possible. Only then will we consider other platforms, but currently we have nothing to announce.

I just bought something on Zupa! - what happens now?

Congrats! Once you place an order, you will receive an email (make sure it's not in the junk folder) from Zupa! acknowledging that your order has been placed. The item will then be processed and shipped directly to your adress on file. Orders that are 'Processing' are being prepared for shipment. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an email confirmation with your tracking number.

Someone just bought my item on Zupa! - what happens now?

Congrats! Do a little happy dance. Once the transaction is successful, you will receive an email (make sure it's not in the junk folder) from Zupa! You will also recieve in-app notifications if you have them activated. Inside the email account which you registered and verified with Zupa! at sign up, you will find an attachment which contains the shipping label for you to use in sending the item to the buyer. Print out this shipping label, attach this shipping label to the box containing the item that has been bought. Take your item to the nearest Post office and send it to the buyer. The shipping label should already be filled out, all you should need to do is send it.

Please note, as a safety precaution to aviod potential fraud please wait till the payment succesfully processes before sending your item to a buyer.

I placed an order but didn't receive a confirmation email. Did my order go through?

Oh no! Every time you place an order you should receive an email from Zupa! acknowledging your order. If you didn't receive an email, you should first check your Spam folder – unfortunately, sometimes emails end up there.

If it's not there, then your order may not have been processed. You can verify this by going to 'My Purchases' in the 'Profile' tab. If your order is there, then your order was received! If you don't see your order under 'My Purchases', we're sorry to say that it was not processed. Please contact us so we can confirm it did not go through and assist you with your order immediately.

How much is shipping?


As a marketplace, Users on Zupa! set their own shipping details, so shipping may vary by item. The weight of an item helps Zupa! automaticlly calculate shipping fees.

Do you ship internationally?


Currently, Zupa! only supports shipping within the continental United States and its territories.

I haven't received my order - who should I contact?


We're sorry! When you place an order on Zupa!, you are actually ordering directly from a user and the user ship your order directly to you. Have your order number and tracking number available and contact Zupa! We will do our best to help. Email us or call us at 1.855.830.6162 and a member of our team will respond to you promptly. We're here Monday to Friday from 8AM to 8PM (PST).

Is my credit card information secure?


Zupa!'s payment processor is Stripe - a secure PCI Level One compliant service provider. Zupa! never touches your payment information or holds any sensitive information. Once an order has been placed, Stripe then requests authorization from your bank. Your account will not be charged until your order has shipped.

What payment methods do you accept?


We currently accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. We do not currently accept Paypal, Amazon Payments, or other payment providers not listed here.

After I've made a sale, how do I get paid?

After linking your bank account to your Zupa! account, you'll be able to see your balance for items sold. The money will arrive in your bank account in 2-5 business days. We use Stripe for payment processing, please go here for a detailed explanation of how payments are transferred.

What are the fees for selling on Zupa!?

Post as much as you want to Zupa!— listing is free. When your item sells, we'll deduct 20% of the sale and you keep 80%. Money goes straight into your account 24 -72 hours after the sale. We want to keep the experience simple.

How do I return my item?


Since you purchased your item directly from a user, they will be processing your return. For help with returns of an item , please email Zupa! or call 1.855.830.6162 and a member of our team will respond to you promptly. We're here Monday to Friday, 10AM PST to 8PM PST.
